Has anyone used Scrivener?

Has anyone ever used the novel writing program Scrivener and if so what do you think of it? Are there any other types of novel writing software?

I'm using Scrivener at the moment, and have to say I think it's brilliant. It won't write your novel for you, but it's definitely worth a look. It has a 30 day trial (runs for 30 days of actual use) so you can take your time to decide if you like it or not.

There are lots of other writing software out there - ywriter, new novelist, writer's cafe...to name a few, all great in their own way, but, honestly, nothing works better than BICAW (butt in chair and write)

Oo thanks Frank, I had no idea there were free ones! I'll have to look into them.

I'll likely keep typing my novels with MicrosoftWord. I know it's getting obsolete, but I like it. Even so, I'll take a look at this software... have never heard about it.
