Maybe it's a dumb question but does age really matter? I'm 17 and I've been told that I'm too young..

@lily I totally agree with you. I'm turning 18 soon, so i dont think 'parents permission' is going to be a problem then. Anyway, I really hope agents see the potential in us. We can be as good as 40 years old! :)
I'm fifteen and I completly understand why you are worrying.
I have sent my work to a few agents and have only recieved rejections. Not only did my piece need a few adjustments, but reading between the lines of replys I have I can tell that some publishers are a little uncomfortable about signing a contract with me because they have to enter into an agreement with my parents as well. But to be perfectly honest (while still trying to be as modest as I possibly can) I have a good book to offer and I have faith that I'll find an agent and a publisher that will see that.
The way I think of it is, if you can have children signing record lables by the time they are ten years old, why can't you have under eighteens signing publishing deals?
If you have faith in your ability and you really enjoy what you do, why shouldn't you make it?

Seeing as one of the youngest published authors is 9 years old, no you are not too young.
