Netbooks for novice writers

I am looking to buy a netbook for more portable writing- my current system is pen and paper and lots of mess! I am not sure which is the best one and what kind of programs would be good for a novice writer?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Lucy Reynolds

Netbooks where conceived as a light weight means to connect to the Cloud/Net and have everything online.

Google chromebook is a great example of a Netbook

Of course some are doing more than they where built for. Just like Mobile smartphones have become Camera's and small Netbooks

But if you want to edit videos, watch movies, play games and run more than one application at the same time while on the go, Netbooks can't compete with Laptops.

But as always its what ever you are happy with or floats your boat.

Hi,

Not sure what Frank means as I have an Acer net book which I use for writing ( am in the middle of Writers Bureau course.) The net book is great, just a smaller and cheaper laptop. I use open office as someone has suggested. Netbooks run just fine without connecting to any cloud. It is quick and easy to access the internet. I can write anywhere, including in bed on occasion and am on this site and typing this using the Acer netbook.

I would love a Macbook Air- long time off a budget like that yet though!

Frank,

thank you so much for your advice- yes I meant laptop- as you can see my limitations on technological knowledge are very low! Your advice as been very helpful though so thank you!
