OK finally finished the title!
So I have a questio, well I'm writing a book, and the title of my book is the same of another's book which had a lot of success.
so my question is is the title really important even if it is almost the same title as the book that had a load of success because the story is not really the same and obviously if it was I would probably get sued or something like that so... answers please :)
(I now realize that I said 'title' many times. Oops) :p
thank you very much mark you really helped me. and don't worry that wasn't prattled at all :)
It's the thing I use to help me stay focussed. You have to believe what you are doing has purpose or it becomes a very dull world. Every time I get knocked back I pick myself up, dust myself off and start on the next story!
I say stick with the title that really works for you, Tiago, and let others worry about it (i.e. publishers, agents, the buying public).
My short story on this site is called Dogs of War. There is novel called that which was made into a film. I'm not worried about these because my story is a small fish in a mighty ocean - it's also very different in concept to those.
If a publisher wanted to publish my story but wanted me to change it to something else then I might consider it if I felt it was important to get my story across to a wider audience.
After all, isn't that why we tell stories - for others to enjoy/appreciate/laugh/cry?
Oops, think I prattled on a bit there - sorry everyone!
Thank you Mark that's really cool of you :)
