Writing Courses
Find Your Voice

Explore the craft of creative writing by paying attention to voice. Authors and creative tutors Natalie Young and Alex Hammond will show us how to find and develop our voices as writers and what it means to have the confidence to speak, as ourselves, on the page.
Find Your Voice has been designed to offer creative support and is suitable for writers of fiction and creative non-fiction. All participants will be provided with a collaborative space in which to develop individual writing styles and book ideas, with the course therefore perfect for writers either in the embryonic stages of a writing journey, or for those with a completed draft but aware of the need to further interrogate their work and/or regain creative momentum.
Writing Horror Fiction

Back by popular demand author Kirsty Logan is returning to W&A in 2023 to deliver this five-week online course dedicated to the craft of writing horror fiction.
How to Write Horror Fiction is designed to take you through the steps essential to writing in this genre. Attendees will explore how to develop the seed of an unsettling idea, discover - through plotting and writing techniques - how much one can leave to the reader's imagination, and analyse what makes a good horror story for the 21st century.
