We're very excited to announce that Writers & Artists will be joined by one of our favourite authors, Howard Jacobson, for our How To Get Published Conference this July.

As an award-winning writer and broadcaster, Jacobson's novels include the 2010 Man Booker Prize-winning, The Finkler Question, The Mighty Walzer (winner of the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize), Kalooki Nights (longlisted for the Man Booker Prize), and the highly acclaimed The Act of Love.

His latest book, Zoo Time, is a hilarious novel that deals with the state of modern publishing. It's a book about love - love of women, love of literature and love of laughter.

Watch this video to see him reading an extract from Zoo Time - and to get a feel for what you can expect on the day!

We now have quite the line-up for the conference. Jacobson will be joined by our editor extraordinaire Cressida Downing, The Sunday Times children's books editor Nicolette Jones, Faber editor Sarah Savitt, author Renata Calverley, editorial director Jane Lawson and agents Lucy Luck, Jenny Saville and Jemima Hunt.

If you have a manuscript you would like published, don't leave your masterpiece languishing in some dusty corner of your home. Join us on the 4th July for the opportunity to chat to literary agents, find out what editors are looking for & hear some industry secrets - go here to book your tickets now.

Great video. This has whetted my apetite to read "Zoo Time". Howard Jacobsen has a dry sense of humour and this book sounds right up my street.
