We're thrilled to be teaming up with the Paul McVeigh Writing Residency to offer all applicants a 30 minute online session on how to approach agents.

You find find out more about the online session as well as the residency below!

How to Approach Agents with Writers & Artists

The Writers & Artists team, James Rennoldson and Clare Povey, discuss the do’s and don’ts of approaching agents, the importance of research, and how to make your submission stand out for the right reasons.  They’ll also share the benefits of being a Writers & Artists Community member and how they can support you on your path to publication.

About the team:

James is W&A Product Owner, and has overseen the development of writersandartists.co.uk, as well as W&A events and editing services, since 2014. He’s also the author of the Writers' & Artists' Guide To How to Hook An Agent, a Q&A guide based on over 180 questions regularly posed by aspiring authors at W&A events.

Clare is W&A Content and Partnership Manager and has been helping creatives since 2016. She created the W&A Working-Class Writers’ Prize and is also an agented children’s fiction author, so fully understands the challenges of the submission process on a personal level.
