I'm working on a young adult novel and my two main characters are two brothers. Does anyone have any good tips for making characters that readers can connect with?

Readers like characters that feel real to them, and that they care about, even if they care in a negative way.
A good character's actions are driven by their motivation, so think about what your character really wants.
Rather than dive straight into your novel, try thinking about your character in different situations, and work on how they'd react.
Good luck!
