by Writers & Artists
27th February 2023

World Book Day is taking place this Thursday! Created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1985, the day is a worldwide celebration of books and reading. To celebrate, we'd love to hear all about your favourite childhood books.

Get involved with this discussion by commenting below with your favourite childhood books. Why does your chosen book mean so much to you? Was it the book that got you into reading? Or is the story attached to a special memory?

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and six more. Although there's barely a Roald Dahl I don't like. I also like the Secret Seven and Famous Five, but it's the wonderful characters of Roald Dahl that really stick with me, complete with their vivid descriptions which are so debated today.

I loved all the Enid Blyton books especially The Valley of Adventure. As a small child I also loved Ferdinand the Bull and have passed it on to my own son, nieces nephews down through the years.

I remember being in the Tufty Club too. What have you written? Very interesting.
