A cooperative novel? (Writing game for any number of participants)

The default setting in Q&As is "Recent". However, by clicking on "Popular", I came across this (the most popular thread ever on this forum, with 88 replies):

https://www.writersandartists.co.uk/question/view/192

It seems to have fizzled out some years ago, but I thought that I might revive the idea for a new generation of users on this forum.

NEW RULE: To prevent total hijacking, each entry may be a MAXIMUM of THREE (3) sentences!

Even when this thread disappears from the most recent page(s), please keep it in mind and return to it again and again. Let's see if we can write a novel-length work of beauty and originality! At least set a new record for thread length.

Obviously, styles will change. Genres may also do so. I will try my best to keep it from sliding into a Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter OR Twilight clone. (THAT's a gauntlet thrown down for some of you fanatics! This could be fun!)

p.s. If it's interesting, I'll ask others at La Gr@not@ if we can publish it. Prepare your CVs!!!

I'll begin:

*************************************

Aisha wiped the mud out of her eyes before plunging her head in the almost-freezing mountain stream.

"That Jon!" she muttered (filling her mouth with water, the rash girl), "He'll pay for this!"

Shaking her head caused myriad waterdrops to fly out from her long, red hair.

(to be continued...?)

Replies

The small clearing was becoming rather crowded with secondary characters and meaningful glances so Aisha decided to move on before the gruesome literary agents of her zombie acquaintance appeared with amorous designs of their own. She picked up Jon's supplies and stomped away dramatically leaving the rest to follow her or not.

[edit... before anybody ELSE jumps on me: Wihelmina's Q was started 3 weeks ago, not 6. Now that it's just gone midnight in the UK, this one counts as 6 days old... and, due to 3 new entries from me (one of which I regret), the other thread has surged ahead.]

[YES, YES, YES!!! With this entry, this thread hits the #3 spot WITH A BULLET! It is – in fact – tied for 3rd place with Wilhelmina’s thread, “Do you REALLY want to write like Jane Austen???”, which has been slowly making its way up the charts (6 weeks to reach #3, compared with 5 days for this one). If you want to join in on THAT fascinating subject, just click on “Popular” at the top of your Q&As list and you’ll see it. But this is the one that’s REALLY going places!]

Ms. Kangaroo (“Red Ada” to her friends [a little joke for those of them who spoke Spanish]) was still a “little” groggy after her nap. So much so, that she barely registered the sudden appearance (and disappearance) of the vigilant defender of Democracy-as-WE-know-it who had ungenerously (not to say traitorously) cast aspersions on Ms. Clinton’s fitness for ruling the world.

But she WAS noticing the goo-goo eyes that this handsome Pom was making at the frankly dishevelled and glowering new-comer on the scene… and she wasn’t too happy about it.
