Hi, so, I've been working on and planning and idea for a few weeks now, and I'm happy enough with the idea I've come up with, I think it is something I can really work with. I know where I want to go with it, etc, However I'm having extreme diffuclty trying to write the first paragraph. I want something that really going to draw the reader in and something thats either going to get them thinking or something that will make them want to continue reading. Only problem is I'm having a severe block at the moment. Any advice, help or ideas? Would really be appreicated!
Hi Terri, I have this problem every time I start a new chapter. The thing is, by the time I get back to revising it I normally trash what I have written and then conjure up the very thing I was looking for in the first place. Don't obsess about the first few lines, get on with the story. What I’m trying to say is: do as I say, not as I do...
So True Jennifer! With my last story, I just kept re-writing and re-writing that by the time i'd finished, it was completley diffrent to my original idea!!
What is it they say "All writing is re-writing".
Make a start then go back again, and again, and again.
The first paragraph will undoubtedly reveal itself or change as your story unfolds.
