Hello everyone, me again.
Are any of you going to the Writers & Artists 'How to Get Published Event' in February?
I know I've missed the reduced payment date, but I'm unsure whether to still go or not. Have any of you attended such events before, because I'd love to hear your feedback.
Sarah :)
Hi Cressida and Tony.
Thanks for getting back to me with your advice.
The event sounds worth it, but I'm wondering, if I'm only currently on chapter 4 of my second draft, would it be advisable to go. I don't want to get my head full of ideas on publishing if I'm not ready yet.
Also, I'm not too good with large crowds, honestly, I'm not, so that worries me.
Sarah :(
Hi Sarah,
I attended this event in 2010 and the childrens's one last November.
I can wholeheartedly recommend that you go. The whole day is well structured, with good handouts and there is the opportunity to talk to the speakers informally and to make new contacts with other writers in a similar position.
I was only looking at my handouts from the November conference today, as I am now at the stage of researching for an agent, and they are very useful.
If you can find enough pennies, I would encourage you to go, as not only is it informative but it will give you a welcome shot in the arm; I know it did me.
Message me if you want more detailed info.
Hope you can make it.
Hi Sarah,
I'm giving a talk so you'd expect me to say it's worth it - but events like these can be a great boost to your writing.
You get to meet like-minded authors, and interrogate experts on all your writing queries. The feedback I've had in the past has been very positive about the knock-on effects.
I hope to see you there!
