There is such a thing as fiction with autobiographical elements. I'm sure Jane Eyre falls into that catagory. The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath certainly does. It's all still fiction though.
I think, for instance.. "Jane Eyre" will be considered a work of non-fiction while "Harry Potter" is a fiction novel and "The Lucky One" by Nicholas Sparks will be called 'romantic fiction' because in reality photographs don't work as lucky charms.
This is what I think but I'm really confused. I submit my work as 'literary fiction' though.
