on November 22nd 2022 (UNFORTUNATELY) I signed a contract for the publication of my novel with Pegasus publishing house. I paid 2500 pounds for the publication of my work. On April 14th 2023, I signed the final proof of the manuscript.
I waited for a few months (all these long periods without any update) and on June 22nd I received the outline illustration for my book cover. There were some mistakes and I made some suggestions. On September 11th I received an updated version of the cover, which I approved.
From then on I haven't received any more updates and the Production doesn't answer to my requests. After 325 working days I am waiting for a refund, as it is written in the contract, but who will compensate for almost 16 months of useless waiting?
Hi Cecilia,
We're so sorry to hear about your experience with Pegasus Publishing house. I'm not sure what the current state of play is with this, but if you are still experiencing difficulties I would contact the Society of Authors. They are a trade union for authors. Although there is a membership fee, they do have a phone line which you can call for free, so you might be able to get some more specific contractual and legal help:
