SHORT STORY COMPETITION question.

Hi there,

I've written a short story for the Arvon competition, for which the word count is maximum 2,000.

I'm quite happy with my story (I've spent a long time working on it), but the finished product is approx 1,200 words. As a newbie to short story competitions, I just wanted to know whether that is acceptable or whether that's considered 'shooting yourself in the foot' territory.

Thanks,

Charlotte

I agree with Louise. The maximum is 2,000, so you can write anything up to, and including, that amount. If you're happy with your story, definitely send it.

Good luck.
