What came first? Your book or your title?

Just simply that, what came first for you. Your book or your book title?

My book came first (not finished) and have now decided on a title halfway through it. Will it remain that title, I'm not sure yet.

Oh definitely the title. Mine's called The Chicken and the Egg.

For me it was the title (taken an album), then came the main characters' names... then many many failed stories, then came the book. The title was the one thing I never questioned... but then again, that was mostly because I wanted it that way.
But from hereon out, i.e. what I am working on now, it's the story first - and once I knew where it's going the name became apparent on its own when I started working on it (I only had a working title - which was never meant to be more than just that).

The name of my character of my book (Bastien Bonlivre) came first and although it didn't generate the WHOLE story idea, it was definitely a helpful stepping stone towards who my main character would be (bookish, a bit shy and a storyteller!)
