Subsidiary rights
Sub-licensing the rights to use content from the work in formats other than the original book, for example in films and television adaptation, serialisation, translation and merchandising.
Syllogism
A form of logical reasoning where two propositions or ideas, which share a common element, together confirm a given conclusion.

Synecdoche
Where a part may be used for the whole or the whole stand for a part.

Targeted media list
A list of journalists or publications (in areas relating to the topic of a book) to be contacted with information or a press release about a book, so that they may refer to it in their writing or broadcasting.
Tense
The feature of a verb that indicates, in a general way, when. The simplest division of English verb tenses is into past, present and future.
