The Christmas Cracker

by steve Brayshaw
21st November 2013

The Christmas cracker

Sat quietly on the tree

It waited for its turn

To go BANG! Whoopee!

The table was laid

With crackers on the plate

This cracker wasn’t needed

So he was left to wait

Christmas was done

The tree began to droop

The cracker fell behind the tv

With last year’s hula hoop

The dust started to gather

The cobwebs were spun

The cracker thought that this was it

His time would never come

Spring cleaning time upon her

Mum began to clean

She found the lonely cracker

And made his cover gleam

The little boy saw the cracker

Can we pull it mum he heard him say

He pulled the cracker with his mum

Bang! Crack! Snap! Hooray
