FACE DOWN

It’s early morning and I can hear so much noise above me. I saw a small dinghy brimming with life and one could hardly breathe. They seemed to running away from some fire spitting monsters. Soon, I spotted a little toddler crawling in his mother’s hands. He was very scared to see me and never got down. But his brother was very friendly and kept staring at me with wonder. Our little toddler’s father’s eyes were flooding with uncertainty but his mother’s eyes were full of hope about a bright future waiting for her family at shore. Our little boy was so adamant that he won't stand till they reach land. The mother was standing, holding him and was trying to cool him down. Suddenly God realised that they had gone through enough hardships and he ordered me to rescue the happy and hopeful and leave behind those who are in disbelief.

On this condition, I accepted the boy’s brother, his mother and a few others from the dinghy. But I had to leave our little boy behind because he was frightened and was adamant to touch the land. The boy was in a two state of mind. He wanted to reach land at the same time, he was not letting off his mother’s hand. She was forcing him towards his father. I can't believe how could a mother be so cruel and selfish to leave her younger child and follow her elder son towards the ultimate peace. I couldn't bare the little toddlers cry. I'm not cruel like his mother. So, I decided to open my doors for him.

But, soon I remembered the words of the almighty. I can't allow him in because, he is still ambitious. The only option before me was to fulfil his wish before accepting him. So, I carefully guided him towards the shore. On the way, I asked him, why should he see a land full of darkness. He replied “I have to leave my mark”. After reaching the shore, he lied his face down, in disdain. Then he insisted me to take him to his mother. With all his wishes fulfilled, I have no objection in obeying him.

Have I done justice? You can decide. For me, it is the ultimate justice.

Rest In Peace Aylan Kurdi….
