Matred- Chapter two

We walked for a long time. I couldn't believe I was going to be living here. It's always been a dream of mine to live in a castle. To be a princess, and have magical abilities. Apparently my suite is on the other side of the castle so we've been walking quite a while to get there. Every now and then we'd stop as he showed me something or to sit down just to talk. I felt like I knew Talon as we spent more time together here in Matred. I haven't seen anyone else here yet however, It's really nice to just enjoy some time in a new place with a new friend.

"You consider me your friend huh?" He asked with what I'm assuming is his own original smirk. I nod slowly looking into his eyes. "Don't you?" I ask. He scoffed. "Please," He replied. "No one could ever love an evil creature like myself." He turned his back and looked at the moon glistening above us. Why wouldn't anyone love him? Wait, how is he evil when he saves lives? This is so confusing. "I'll tell you eventually," He said. Oh right, I thought to myself. He can hear my thoughts. He turned around to face me. His cold eyes seemed like they were bottomless, as if they were never ending tunnels of ice. "Never love me. You'd get hurt. " He said and my mind went blank. I don't know what to say.

Why would he tell me that, we just met? "Your new suite Princess Blaze." He gestured to a two door entrance with curtains flowing through the night's wind. Did he just say princess? I'm no princess. He walked to the door and opened it slowly as he stood behind it.  I couldn't believe this was mine. I slowly walked towards the open door. Everything seemed to go by in slow motion. As I stood behind the curtains that'd reveal my new bedroom I gently brushed my hand against the fabric. It's silky smooth texture felt like it'd melt in my hand if I used any extra force. I looked back at Talon where he was looking at me with an expression I couldn't recognize. He nodded as if he knew what I wanted to ask him. Is this really happening?

I forced my legs to move forward with each step, fearing what this could mean. For me, and for my future. I pushed the curtains aside with both of my hands and slowly peeked into the room. "Wow.." I gasped as I walked in and started to look around. "This is..." "Do you like it?" I turned around to see Talon standing in front of the doors in which I came in from. I nodded in certainty. "Talon this is so beautiful.." I sat on the queen sized bed and glided my hands around the silky black comforter as I kicked my shoes off my feet. "I picked it all out. I didn't know if you'd like it but I like the colors black and red. " I sat up and looked at him. "You did this?" I asked and he nodded. I got up from the bed and I hugged him as a thank you.

I felt Talon's body stiffen as I wrapped my arms around him. I noticed how strong he was as I held him close to me. The two second hug seemed like it lasted a few minutes. I pulled away and looked up at his eyes. "What was that for?" He asked, his face suddenly red. Has he never had a hug before? He wrapped his arms around me and I felt him nuzzle his face into my neck. "No, I haven't." I returned the hug and as we pulled apart I noticed him smile through his tinted cheeks. I smiled as we stared each other in our eyes like we knew each other forever.  I heard some shifting in the background and I broke my gaze on Talon and looked around.

"Good evening Princess Blaze, we've been awaiting you, haven't we..Talon?" A tall older man looked at Talon and he stepped away from me. "Right." He replied. I said nothing and Talon waved the older man off. "She'll be out as soon as I finish showing her around Stephen." He called out and Stephen nodded as he walked out. What was that about? Talon grabbed my hand and dragged me to another door on the right side of the room. "This is your closet, you'll have to change clothes twice to three times a day." He opened the door and gently pushed me inside. As he has his hand on my back I turned around and gripped his wrist.

"Are you going to tell me what happened back there?" I asked. He sighed before bringing his free hand up to my cheek. "Oh Blaze, you make me forget about the rules. " He said and I backed away from him. What? There are rules? For what? "One day you'll know, I can't explain now," He gestured me inside the closet as he backed away from me and out of the closet.  I find a frown on my face  as I hear the doors close to the balcony entrance. I turn back around to see gowns of all kinds. Woah. Am I supposed to wear this stuff? It looks like it could be sold for car money! I look through them feeling sort of displeased by all the bright colors.

"Where can I ever find anything not in pastel colors?" As I was about to give up and just walk out I look to my left and stop. Does this place ever cease to draw me in? I quickly slip out of my clothes and put it on with a smile on my face. "I wish I had a mirror so I could see how this looks on me." A second later, a gold and silver framed mirror stood on the wall. I marveled at the magical ability I seemed to gain as being the Princess of Matred. I gasped as my body came into full image in the mirror. The bodice of the dress had silver and gold silk lines cross hatching the front and as the dress flowed to my feet it's silky smoothness went all the way down until it covered my bare feet. A strip of smooth leather went around the bottom of the bodice and the sleeves rested off my shoulders.

"Wow.." I hear someone's voice behind me and I turn around.
