Ménage à Quatre

Meet the Morgans and the Jamiesons: two families with so many secrets, that they’re best locked in a cupboard and forgotten about.

Zoe

How do you think it feels to be in love with your best friend’s husband? Let me tell you, it’s excruciatingly painful especially when you see them at least three times a week and your friend is a prize-bitch who doesn’t deserve to have him in the first place.

In theory I’m happily married. I have a responsible job, two children and a dog; therefore, I am doing the decent thing and trying to behave like a grown-up.

Julian

How do you think it feels to fancy your wife’s best-friend’s husband? Well, for starters, it’s not something you can admit to, even after a few pints down the pub. So I carry this around with me and say nothing. How can you even start to admit this to anyone? It’s tough enough just admitting it to yourself.

Annabel

Why the hell I ever married Greg, I’ll never know. The fact that he was wealthy and his Mother loathed me with a passion might have helped though. Life at home with my parents after university was a shock, I’d forgotten how dull they were to be around and was used to having my freedom as well as a hefty allowance. That made him completely irresistible and I was pregnant within six months of meeting him.

Apart from that, our fifteen year marriage has been a match made in hell. Greg has given up all hope of ever getting his own way on anything. I’ve given him two children, what more does he want?

We used to have a fantastic sex life, especially if his Mother was staying, but after so long together I’ve gone off him big time. Since starting an affair last year, life has improved a lot. Luckily, Greg’s much too busy running a business to notice how I spend my time.

Greg

I’m certain that I loved Annabel once, but now I’m not so sure. My Mother hated her right from the start, it’s just a shame I couldn’t see behind the façade. Annabel has always done whatever she wanted. Life could have been so simple, but instead I chose chaos. Trouble is, I’m so busy running a business to pay for it all that I have no idea what she’s up to anymore.

Hello Jayne

I think this could be the beginning of a good farce, but I agree with Robert, we need more to get our teeth into. You can publish up to 3000 words on the shared work section.

All the best,

Isabella

Jayne, there is not really enough to comment on here. Can we have some more of the story please?
