Since he was ten years old, Lanyon has been writing poems in his spare time. After completing his studies at Mount Cotton State School, he continued his education at Cleveland High School. When he was in the tenth grade, he dropped out to pursue a career working on the family farm with his grandparents and in the family nursery with his parents. Because the nursery was having financial difficulties, he began his professional life by working a variety of part-time jobs.
He started off on a journey by car along the east coast of Queensland to Cairns, where he secured a work in a bar before heading back to his farm, which was experiencing a drought at the time. The cost of his aircraft ticket to London, where he was able to secure a work visa, was covered by his grandparents. He started out as a bartender in an establishment close to Gatwick Airport and rapidly worked his way up to the position of assistant manager.
After he got back from London, the farm and nursery got the much-needed rain they had been waiting for, and he started his career as an author by penning poems at his farm, which he later compiled into a book.
The renown that Lanyon enjoys as a notable poet and author is mostly due to the works that he has produced.
Now he's more than prepared to take off and just get started a new phase of her career!
