Perception

Media and people

Have made us believe

That you’re only beautiful

With a petite body and straight teeth,

You’re nothing unless you’re centre of attention

But… guess who reinforced this kind of perception.

You, yes you!

You’ve joined in on this flaw

But with the strength of words and music,

It’s been hard to ignore.

It’s hurt, its pained, but what have you done?

You’ve laughed, you’ve followed, but when I speak about use:

It has none.

So I really don’t think you have the right to complain.

Instead, change the way you think and what you say.

Because for purification, we must cleanse this defect

With that being said:

Reality check, nobody’s perfect.

So blame the media,

Blame others

Blame society if it helps

But remember:

If it doesn’t control you,

Why do you think, believe and do as they do?

Good poem.

Important topic. I liked the way you turned the blame around, clarifying that we should take responsibility for our perspectives.

Well done.

It is a good poem but the final verse needs to be revised and written in the same style of verse one this would, in my opinion, improve the poem. So-

Blame others: cause and effect

Blame the society you have wrecked

Rememeber control? It is in the mind

No one has to be this unkind
