A tale of a refugee

I’ll run away where the bells don’t chime

I’ll run away so I can sleep through the night

I’ll escape to a forest full of trees

Collecting food and honey from wild bees

I’ll build a home safe in a burrow below

Hidden under that thick wooden bough

I’ll run away where the bells don’t chime

I’ll run away so I can sleep through the night

I dream that one day I will all be free

And ponder this adventure over a cup of tea

Oh help me my village is a concrete crumble

I cant stop shaking, living in this warfare jungle

I’ll run away where the bells don’t chime

I’ll run away so I can sleep through the night

One day you and I will eventually feel peace

And the bombs and guns will eventually cease

I live on hope and pray

One morning I will wake to a better day

But in the meantime…

I’ll run away where the bells don’t chime

I’ll run away so I can sleep through the night

I love the rhythm of this and the sentiment.
