The Tree

Nature, Nurture, Natural beauty at its finest
Grappling, intertwining, battling to be the highest
Perfectly imperfect, abstract and unique
Spanning valleys down below and dominating mountain peaks
An array of colour, a plethora of sizes
Shapes and drapes, Wilt and Willow, Mother Nature surprises
Before people, despite people, and after we have gone
Supporting life, sheltering birds, who serenade us with their song
Casting shadows and linting leaves
Gold, yellow, brown and green
To live with no scenery is to not live at all
Disbanding the modern grey, through Winter, Spring and Fall.
Standing proud, posing, like an emperor before his people
Or embracing the gales and elements, dancing like he has no equal
The small and the mighty, The subtle but grand
Here’s to all the humble Trees right across the land.
