Are you an aspiring author? Do you have a young adult or new adult manuscript polished and ready to go? Well Bloomsbury Spark is ready to accept your submissions!

Bloomsbury Spark

Bloomsbury Spark is a global, digital imprint from Bloomsbury Publishing for teen, YA, and new adult readers featuring new and established authors. This new venture from Bloomsbury is currently acquiring teen, young adult, and new adult fiction across all genres, including but not limited to romance, paranormal, contemporary, dystopian, science fiction, mystery, thriller, historical fiction, and more—from writers all over the world. Unlike a traditional trade list, Bloomsbury Spark eBooks are published exclusively in digital format first, and sold side-by-side with Bloomsbury print and digital books!

If you’re an author, Bloomsbury Spark is a hands-on, full-service publishing house, not only interested in publishing your book, but also crafting your career.

Bloomsbury Spark is a one-stop shop for getting your book published, from carefully shaping your manuscript to posting your book for sale. Every Bloomsbury Spark eBook will be edited by a dedicated Digital Editor. Other services provided include: copyediting, proofreading, cover design, and local marketing. The entire imprint will also receive marketing and advertising support in addition to the campaign for individual books.

Agents are not required for your manuscript to be considered by Bloomsbury Spark. They are currently accepting English language manuscripts between 25,000 and 60,000 words. Please send your manuscript (in Word) to one of the following email addresses, along with a query, a brief biography, and links to your online presence. Please do NOT submit your manuscript more than once or to more than one email address.

For submissions in the United States and Canada: BloomsburySparkUS@bloomsbury.com

For submissions in the United Kingdom, Europe and ROW: BloomsburySparkUK@bloomsbury.com

For submissions in Australia: BloomsburySparkAUS@bloomsbury.com

For submissions in India: BloomsburySparkINDIA@bloomsbury.com

If Bloomsbury Spark is interested in publishing your work, they will get in touch directly within two months from your submission.

Dear All,

Please see the below from the team at Bloomsbury Spark:

"Thanks to everyone for your comments and questions! We are thrilled that you are just as excited about Spark as we are. Regarding the comments on the word count, we are looking to publish content at a maximum of 60,000 words in order to ensure that it will fit with our commitment to publish timely fiction for today's audience. We accept submissions that are currently over 60,000 words as long as you are open to editing it down after acceptance.

If your project is longer than we are calling for but could also be split into a series, please keep us in mind! We understand that a complete YA/NA novel with a shorter word count may be hard to imagine now, but we are confident that with our editorial support we are crafting a line of highly consumable YA and NA books for the modern eReader."

The Sci-fi novel I had in mind for this has 95k words.

Am I right in thinking it doesn't qualify for this based on the 60k word cap?
