Is there a list of agents who work with Caribbean writers or fictions whose setting is in the Caribbean?

Thank you for your suggestions.

Hi Lucette,

Thanks for your enquiry.

Look at the works of Caribbean writers that you already know and love, and find out who their literary agent is. A lot of writers will include their agent's name in the Acknowledgments, so this can be a great way of finding out agents who might be interested in your work.

I'd highly recommend you look at the following places, too:

- Peepal Tree Press: This is a small, independent publisher who focus on publishing Caribbean and Black British Writing

- Dialogue Books: This is an imprint at Little, Brown and the imprint was set up by Sharmaine Lovegrove, to exclusively publish writers from, black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, the LGBTQI+ community and those with disabilities. Sharmaine has also set up an online magazine for Caribbean Writing called Pree: https://preelit.com/

A lot of agents will say in their bios that they love writing with a real, strong sense of place - and so if the Caribbean is the setting to your book, then these are agents you could definitely approach.

All best,
