If there aren't any in Exeter I am going to start my own.
Please give me any advice possible. Thanks

I added this to your last query but here it is again in case you missed it. Have you tried the groups you have found? They may not have waiting lists and if they have are probably happy for you to attend a meeting as a guest to see if it is what you are wanting. Have you tried the local library or looked on line for U3A or NAWG?
'This is from my friend James Bell. "Uncut Poets at the Exeter Phoenix Arts Centre. The Phoenix could be a good starting point. A great venue third Thursday in the month."
There are some excellent poets there, and an audience is always welcome. I write poems as well as prose and many of the Exeter people will as well, so it's well worth going even if poetry isn't your cup of tea, you should be able to pick up some links. Don't be shy everybody will be willing to help.
At my first meeting of Falmouth Poetry Group, pretty highpowered I was very nervous [terrified more like] and they were all great, no one made me feel amateur or as if I shouldn't have been there. Now I'm giving workshops, reading at festivals etc. etc. Take the plunge, it's worth it.'
