Approaching shops to stock my book.

Hi Everyone, I self published two children's books in 2013, within six months I had them stocked in over 12 shops locally to me. I want to start approaching other shops in other areas.....my question is should I send them a sample of my book? I have done this in the past but I feel if my letter is strong enough I could arrange a meeting then take my books in. Any advice.

Hi Victoria,

I would research other stores both on the highstreet and online to find out which ones stock similar books, give them a call to pitch your book to the Manager and to arrange a face to face meeiting.

If you've already done that, then ignore me. Whatever you do, good luck and let us know how you got on.

Just a thought... why not phone the shop manager?

His or her answer to your question will be a lot more relevant than my opinion.
