I've been working on my novel for quite a while now. Sometimes I don't do any work on it for weeks. I'm at the editing stage so I know I'll finish it but just wondered if anyon else ever feels like they'll never get there?

I worry I won't live long enough to finish!
It takes so long....
For me the editing process is worse than the writing. Each time I finished an edit I thought I was close to he finishing line, but I wasn't. However, I was a little nearer after each subsequent edit. I was pleased to have addressed a particular item on my editing list. The road ahead became much clearer as I savagely cut, cut, cut. My final tasks are to address patches of dialogue and tighten up my prose.
I constantly feel like that, and then when it's finished you worry that it won't be publishable, and when it's about to be published you worry that no one will like it! Books are certainly labours of love and the editing and re-editing is the worst bit I find!
