For those of you wondering when the Arvon Short Story Competition shortlist will be announced, we are almost there!
We've had record numbers of entries this year and it has been very hard to choose! We expect to make an announcement mid-April, so keep your eyes peeled!

Good morning Admin. Here's an idea - is it possible to send a cheerful little email to the 'no longer in the running' entries to say something like 'better luck next time.' Then at least we can step away from our inbox for necessary duties like taking care of children, working, writing, cooking, eating, etc. Just a thought. It would put the majority of us out of our misery and we could get on with our next epic short story! Or am I the only person feeling on tenter hooks? Call me impatient then, but it really means a lot to me.

As above, due to a record number of entries, we won't be able to announce the winners this month! We will instead be making announcements and contacting entrants in mid-April.
