Slightly curious to find Liber Barcelona is in October not April. We were planning on being in Barcelona in April and thought of looking in on the bookfair you mention. Would be glad if you could send details as I can't find anything in April this year. Thanks, Daphne
Thanks Jimmy.
Barcelona is a VERY cultural city! I think that Barcelona Liber MIGHT be an Anarchist book fair.
I thought that I would be too late to apply for a stall at "La Fira de Sant Jordi" (roses i llibres) on the 23rd of April (el dia de Sant Jordi, aka St. George's day) AND I couldn't find a web-site about THIS YEAR's fair anywhere, but when I phoned the council information service, I was told that info about applying would be posted in all the Catalan newspapers "in the 2nd half of January".
So fear not, late April is correct! If La Gr@not@ DOES get a stall, and you have a book to promote, bring a few copies and we'll see what we can arrange. At any rate, you'll be able to sign your page(s?) on copies of the refugee-aid anthology! I've already invited Victoria Fielding (who hasn't answered THAT question), so we might have a W&As get-together!
Unfortunately, hotel prices shoot up when lots of fairs and exhibitions are on, so if you have friends in or near "Barna" - or are members of a hospitality network - you will save a packet! I'll probably either be kipping on a friend's sofa or sleeping in a tent.
p.s. If you're booking budget flights, bear in mind that RyanAir call Girona and Reus airports "Barcelona/Girona" and "Barcelona/Reus", even though they're +/- 100km away.
