Blogging.... Any advice?

Wow, it's been a long time since I've been on writers and artists, but it's great to be back in the writing community again.

After a lot of soul searching, and quite a lot of agent searching too, I've come to the decision that I'm going to self publish (yay) and the time has come to create my online presence (oh dear) and I'm starting that with a blog.

Does any one here have a blog? Do any of you have any tips or advice for a blogging newbie?

Cheers in advance :)

Hi Kimberley,

I blog on Wordpress at www.journeytoambeth.com, and I've also written posts for this site.

One tip when starting out would be to get out into the blogging community and participate- visit other people's blogs, like and comment, and be genuine about it. The indie writer blogging community are incredibly generous in terms of cross-promotion, and I've also made some wonderful friends as part of the process. The other thing I've found useful is to participate in writing and photography challenges, of which there are loads. Finally, post as regularly as you can - then readers will know they can expect fresh content from you.

If you have any other questions pop on over to my blog and ask, or message me on here. Good luck with it!

Hi Kimberly,

I have a blog/website over at www.freshsoulscartoons.com and an Instagram feed.

With any blog, you can get it up and running in minutes but if it doesn't ""feel" like your outlet it's hard work, so know your aesthetic I suppose :-)
