Book Pricing

Hi Everyone. I would like you advice/help please.

I am writing a book that required a lot of research about a crime concerning George Zimmerman. This is my first book. I am interested in e-book publishing, but I get the impression I have to sell the book for 9.99 or less to get a decent royalty. This won't work since I have put so much research into this effort. What I have read so far seems to refer to novels and such. Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks you all for your advice. Fortunately, I have not written it on a cost basis and thank you for helping me to stay focused on what is most important.

I am about 95 percent done with my book. I want to see the wrongdoers brought to justice.

Yup - nice one, Frank :)

Never think you can make money from writing, however long you spend at it, because that's a fool's paradise. For example I spent three years writing my first novel (actually my third, but the first that saw print), and based on average unknown-writer paperback sales I'd need to charge around £77 a copy to earn a minimum wage hourly rate!!

It just don't work like that. Unfortunately :(
