I wrote and illustrated very successful book for Quarto books a few years ago.
They paid me a flat fee and said there would not be royalties paid.
Is that something that I could ever reverse?

Thank you so much Lorraine ! That is excellent advice.
You must revisit the contract that you signed with Quarto at the time, Jane. It may be possible to remove your books from their lists, then re-issue them yourself under a different cover, and with a new introduction and ISBN, but this all comes down to the contract. If in any doubt, get proper legal advice.
