Books for young children

Hi,
I have written a short story for young children and I would like to make it into a picture book. I am just working out how many illustrations I need in order to turn my story into a book.

What would a suitable number of pages for a young children's story book be?

Many thanks.

Hi Lavinia,

Here are some links to articles about picture books on the site that should contain all the information you're looking for, but Andrew is right! The average is usually 32 pages.

Hi Lavinia

From my own research into this, the average pages in a children's picture book is 32.

Good luck. Let us all know how it goes.
