Sometimes, you feel uncertain whether you should end the chapter where you have and whether its better to continue. Also the doubt that, if the word count for that particular chapter is enough or not or how much you need, all these doubts come to mind while writing(at lest to me), so what do you do in such circumstances, and is these a solution for this kind of thing?
I am inclined to answer by combining Ricardo's point (set goals for each chapter) with Maurice's (end a chapter on a Page Turner) and with Andrew's (don't worry about chapter length.). These three points to me make excellent sense.
I remember a writer saying: Write the story first, and then add the chapters.
I don't tend to do that. My writing is more structured. I write in Scenes.
I try to end a chapter on a Page Turner (A Mini Climax). Something to keep the reader's interest.

Don't worry about chapter length, Douglas Adams wrote a chapter in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that was just one paragraph.
