What makes up a character? I am inquisitive to know how you all make up/create a character?

When I used to do creative writing in a group we used a character creation form. I have an amended version of that if you like? I've sent a connection request to you
Well, I make my first and basic character's through the need's that I think my book demands and so that it suits my interests, because I could never write a story I didn't like and only could and would write ones, that I personally as reader would like to read.
My way to make basic characters, emphasizing upon the elements and kinds of character's I would prefer to read or write about would be sort of like this-
-Main Protagonist
-Villain
-Heroin/ Love Interest
- Best Friend(for the Hero)
- Rival
- Henchmen/people under the Villain
-Character's that sort of Provide humor or comic relief
-Interesting or unique character's that I would like to write about.
-etc and many others
Well, that's my list kind of thing(though I've never really written it down, always done it in my head!)
Now, back to your question-
After I make the basic role for the character, I set about making the characters(though I do some other thing's, like making the plot- an essential thing)
Take A main character for instance, I would only make my hero, possess the sort of traits and qualities that I like, or appreciate or envy or in some cases ones that I posses(like Ian Fleming did with James Bond, giving him a few of his habits and such)
Well, that's how I do it, sometimes I also like making up random characters the sort that suddenly pop up in the story and bring a grin on the face of reader, or seem mysterious(I like ones of that sort).
