Hi,
I have written my first short children's book - age 4-6 . I have had a few illustrations done and I am really struggling to obtain some positive feedback prior to continuing with the illustrations to see if I am heading in the right direction - any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
There is a share your work are on this website, though I'm not sure whether you can attach photos. If not perhaps there are other blogs/forums out there where you might be able to attach a photo and get some feedback?
I would say as long as the charterers/concept and the art's style work well together it should be good, if the illustrations have a distinct and consistent style, then its a good direction!
And of course, trust your instinct. If you're feeling hesitant or unsure, perhaps its because it needs some re-drafting.
Good Luck
Hi Claudia.
Well done on writing the story. You might not get a proper feel for the book until all the artwork is done. If it’s a short book and you’re illustrating yourself, why don’t you just finish the drawings? Illustrating can be hard going, so another suggestion is doing sketches instead of fully worked pictures, like a “dummy” book. Just my own suggestions.
Let us know how it goes.
