Commenting on stories

I've noticed that lots of stories don't get commented on at all. I'm wondering what makes you comment on a particular piece?

Replies

I comment on a story if a) it catches my attention, or b) if someone takes the time to give me constructive criticism, then I return the favor, otherwise you spend so much commenting on people's stories when they can't be bothered even looking at yours properly

Splendid question!

From my experience , when I read a story, I comment only if I feel there are some noticeable mistakes. For instance , in some stories there are loads of mistakes and you don't feel like doing any commentary there. But some are so interesting that you have to vent out your admiration!
