How would you feel if you were the winner?

Replies

Hello, Well I would be as they say ' over the moon', but its my first time to enter any writing competition and I enjoyed it very much. There are I belive 3000 enteries, so some stiff competition. For me making the short list would make me feel a winner, at least it would tell me I'm doing something right, but in the end I dont make it I will not drop my head, I enjoy writing and thats what matters.

I wish all the entrants the very best of luck.

James.

Okay, as a hypothetical question, knowing I won't win, for me I would be proud to even make the shortlist. It would mean, to me, that I am doing something right, somewhere. In truth, any competition that 'noticed' my work would be wonderful and fill me with joy.

Writing is a lonely business during the act of creation. It is like being a solitary explorer charting an unknown territory. You do your best to carve a path through it, but you never know if others will want to tread the path you created. When you hear that someone has read your work, taken the journey you created and liked it, the feeling of joy is wonderful. At least, I imagine it is ... I have yet to experience it.

Haha! Now there's a question. I just look back at anything I've written and think it's a load of old rubbish! With 3,000 entries I think the chances are sadly quite slim.....
