contracts with publishers

Can anyone tell me what are the main points that should be in a contract between a publisher and the writer??

and what could make a contract void??

The law of contract can be a very confusing subject. If you are fortunate enough to be offered a contact by a publisher I would suggest getting a business law solicitor to check the contract over. This will cost but could be cheaper in the long run than finding the contract is not worth the paper it's written on.

Is the contract something you were thinking of drafting yourself, Victoria?

There is an advice page about this topic on this website:

I don't know if it will cover what would make a contract void, that might be something you'd have to pay for legal advice.
