Course feedback and apology to W&A

I did complain on here a while ago about the lack of courses up North. It was pointed out that there is a course in York, which I must admit is in the north, but typical of southerners they do not realise that it is as difficult to get across this country as it is to go to London.

To go to York, there are no trains to get me there (from Cumbria) early enough for the start of the course. To drive there is also problematical as it is more or less impossible to park in York. You have to park and ride. I would have to leave home at about 4 in the morning to get to park and ride, to get to York quickly enough to make the 30 minute walk to the course venue.

I have booked on the How to Hook an Agent course in April. This is because I have found there is a train (at 4.50am) that I can catch which will get me to London Euston for 8.30. and an easy walk to Bloomsbury. After the event I can get home again same day.

For some reason known only to the labyrinthine systems of Virgin Trains it is hard to discover this train.

I am travelling to London First Class too, for only £46.

So thank you to W&A for the effort of having something in the North. Is there any chance that you could arrange something in Manchester in the North too, £28 return First Class, and loads of trains..

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for this, and yes we're very much looking into it. We're close, in fact, to arranging something in Edinburgh later in the year so keep your eye on the site/newsletter.

Realise this is perhaps too late notice for you to attend, but Alysoun Owen, Editor of both Yearbooks, will be speaking at an event in Salford on Saturday. Link here, if that's of interest: https://watersideartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/1976-northern-lights-writers-conference-2017/

We look forward to meeting you in April!
