I'm thinking about enrolling on a creative writing course during the summer holidays and I was wondering if anybody had done a particular course and felt that they got a lot out of it. Several I've researched look brilliant, but I'm sure there are heaps others I haven't come across. Thank you for your help!
I would invest in a copy of, 'The Aspects of The Novel' by E.M. Forster. He wrote: A Room with a View, Howards End and Passage to India.
It is the best book ever written on the subject and at a few pounds on Amazon, much cheaper than any writing course,
I would ask what workshops they run.
Finding a unique voice, and thoroughly learning the aspects of the novel outweigh the correct use of grammar and punctuation, which will improve the more you read and write.
Class size would also be an important consideration.
I opted for a private literary editor, but I realise that not everyone has the resources to do so.
I found the writers bureau really helped me. They do distance learning courses and I really learned a lot from their comprehensive writing course.
