Creative Writing Group?

Hey I work in a bookstore and am thinking of putting on a creative writing group/ event but don't know exactly what that would entail? Would I have to get a professional writer in to help coach the others or would a mini event on how to get a novel published/ self-published be a better way to go? What would other people like to see if you were to go to something like this? It's a very vague question I know, but I'm just trying to get some ideas on the go. Any help would be great...

An open forum to hear and share work would be great - especially if there was an industry insider there!

hat's an excellent idea.

I suggest you look at publisher sites like this one and see what events they advertise. You could then cherry-pick what events you think are suitable for your creative writing group.

Good luck.

Hi Jenny

Sounds like a great idea.

You could do different events each week or each month. Both ideas you have mentioned sound good and would attract a lot of interest. I feel you would soon have places filled for each of the events.

Good luck
