Creative writing

Hi

My sister has read my manuscript through and while she enjoyed the story she has suggested I perhaps read something about creative writing, to increase my skill of the art

Can anyone suggest such books? Or whether I might be best off attending evening classes or someing similar at a local uni (mine being Bedford)

Thanks in advance

Jonathon, That's what all the great writers did. They stood on the shoulders of the greats.

I like Diane Doubtfire's 'The Craft of Novel Writing' .It's quite an old book but is very readable and full of good ideas.

Hi Michael, I've found that a lot of published authors with blogs often post writing tips. So Google your favourite authors and find out if they have a blog.
