Writers deal with block in many different ways and its just as case of finding what's the best for yourself. Victoria says put the story away - this is probably the most common answer, and indeed sound advice. Sometimes you do need to take that break away from your story and work at something else for a while. Other methods include simply re-reading what you have so far, picking up the thread as it were, and hope that by the end, you have an idea of where to take the story next.
I once spoke to somebody who said that before he sat down to write, he would drink a pint of water, and then wouldn't allow himself a toilet break until he had written a full page... Though I would not personally reccomend this solution.

I put the story away until a new idea comes into my head that can be used in the piece :)
