It can be anything up to 6 months, each agent and publisher have a different guide line!
Most Agents submission guidelines will say how long it takes them to respond. Usually it's six to eight weeks, but no longer than twelve weeks. If you haven't heard anything in eight weeks I would give them a gentle reminder.
