do I give up?

Over three months ago, an agent requested meet send her a full manuscript, after I had sent her my first three chapters - and I have heard nothing since. Do I assume she is not interested and pursue other avenues, or send a polite email asking if she has had a chance to read it, or do I sit tight for another three months?

Frustrated from bucks,

You can send your book to as many agents as you like - it is your book! If you want to be fair, you can say in your letter that you have sent it out to others for consideration. You're only going to accept one offer, after all - but you need to get it out there for as many offers as possible to be made. If this first one rejects it (which I hope they won't), you don't want to have to go through the whole thing eight times in succession afterwards: do all eight at once, and cut down the waiting time. Your work is the important thing here - not to mention your fingernails, which will be chewed to the quick by now! Good luck!

Thanks Jeff and Adrian. I suppose I'm a little concerned that if there is a chance that my book is actually still being considered, that sending to another agent will not be considered the done thing.

Sigh.

I would submit to other agents.
