Do I need permission?

My novel is set mainly in London but also in various locations in Europe. I'm using real street names and want to use the real names of cafe's, shops, hotels etc where the main character would visit and have dealings with. Do I need permission from these places to be able to name them in a book?

In books, I don't think you do, as long as you don't give them a bad name. I know autobios don't so I guess the same goes for fiction.
